About the Classes

These story-based language enrichment classes are a type of kindergarten readiness class. They are designed for children ages 3–5 and their grown-ups.

Each week, we dive into a fun theme through stories, music, movement, and hands-on fun where your child learns naturally while enjoying themselves. While traditional story time offers wonderful opportunities for connection and fun, these classes take it a step further by using evidenced-based strategies throughout class.

Designed by a pediatric speech therapist (that’s me!), these classes support early language, social, and literacy skills in a warm, welcoming space where both kids and caregivers feel right at home. You’ll leave each session with easy, practical tips based in research to continue the learning (and fun!) at home.

There’s also joyful open playtime for kids to explore and make friends, while parents and caregivers connect, share stories, and support each other in a relaxed, friendly space.

This is more than just story time—it’s a thoughtfully designed experience that blends the joy of play and stories with expert guidance to support your child’s growth and your family’s connection.

At the core of each class is a love for language, learning, connection, and community.

Meet the SLP

Hello!

I’m Stacey Sonner, a pediatric speech-language pathologist based in Western New York with over 10 years of experience. I’m passionate about helping parents support their child’s communication development and creating a welcoming space where kids feel free to learn and be themselves.

I earned my bachelor’s and teacher certification (TSSLD) from SUNY Cortland and my master’s in speech-language pathology from Ithaca College. I’m licensed in New York and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.

I’ve worked with children from infancy through high school in various settings including Early Intervention, preschool, and K–12 schools. Building strong connections with children and their families is at the heart of my work, and I stay current in the field through ongoing professional development.

My goal is to teach and support children and empower parents through community. It takes a village, and I’d love to become part of yours!

My Mission:

My mission is to nurture confident, connected communicators through play, language, and meaningful interactions—while empowering parents with support and community to guide their child’s growth.

Designed by a pediatric speech-language pathologist, these small-group classes offer more than songs and stories. They’re intentionally crafted experiences using evidenced-based strategies that support early speech, language, literacy, and social-emotional development in young children. Through music, movement, hands-on activities, and guided play, children build essential communication skills in a fun, supportive environment.

I empower caregivers with practical, proven strategies they can use every day to encourage their child’s growth—creating a shared learning experience that extends well beyond class time.

Above all, I aim to provide a welcoming, inclusive space where children and their caregivers feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow together.

Story Behind Our Classes

After having my own children, I discovered the joy and comfort that came from attending mommy-and-me classes. These experiences offered so much: meaningful social opportunities for my kids, a chance for me to connect with other parents going through similar stages, and, most importantly, a safe and welcoming space to bond with my children while creating lasting, positive memories.

That inspiration led me to create these classes. Each one is thoughtfully designed to be developmentally appropriate, engaging, and—above all—fun for both children and their caregivers. At the heart of everything I do is the goal of strengthening the connection between little ones and their grown-ups. I truly believe in the power of community and am committed to nurturing it in every class we share.

Every session is centered around a playful, purposeful theme that encourages creativity and exploration, all while supporting important developmental milestones. The classes gently introduce new language concepts and help lay the foundation for early literacy skills—tools that will support your child’s success in preschool, kindergarten, and beyond.

I believe that communication is the cornerstone of connection, learning, and confidence. My hope is to empower you with the knowledge and support to help your child grow into a strong, confident communicator.
